Winnie Smith found her silver mine at the San Francisco Sectional this past June. She was able to earn enough silver points to clear the hurdle to Life Master. Congratulations, Winnie!
Jane Zimmerman became a Silver Life Master during our 2009 season. Jane now has the fourth highest masterpoints in the club! A hearty congratulations to you, Jane!

Edwin Straver, another of our club directors, was awarded his Bronze Life Master certificate in April 2009. He has now garnered over 500 masterpoints. Congratulations and we wish him well as he begins his journey to Silver.
Georgia Jacka, our chief NTBC Director, became a Life Master in May of 2009, winning her final masterpoints at a Sectional in Scottdale, AZ. She now has over 300 masterpoints. Congratulations Georgia!

I understand (through the grapevine) that the San Diego bridge environment was very good for one of our long time club members, Howard DeYoung. Howard returns to Tahoe for the 2009 season as a Life Master. Congratulations on your achievement, Howard!

NOTE: Effective January 1, 2010 the requirements for attaining Life Master status will change. The new requirements will not apply to ACBL members in good standing whose dues are current as of December 31, 2009, and who maintain continuous membership in the ACBL until they become Life Masters. What are the new requirements?
As of January 1, 2010, the requirements for attaining Life Master status will change to 500 total masterpoints (from 300), of which, 50 must be gold or platinum, 50 red, gold or platinum, 75 silver and 75 black.

Congratulations to Bob Sendall and Edwin Straver for winning the 2009 Club Championship with an incredible 71% game.
